Applying for a Library Card An unrestricted library card is required to borrow materials. Library cards are available for free to persons living in Nemaha County. A $15 yearly fee will be charged to persons living outside Nemaha County. To obtain a library card, proof of address is required, i.e. driver's license, checks, bill, etc., as long as it has your name and your address on it. One library card is issued per household. You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card.

Lost & Damaged Items You will be charged the current replacement cost plus a processing fee. In most cases, if the item is found within 30 days and deemed in an acceptable condition by the library director, a refund will be given. All magazines have a $4.00 replacement cost.
Inter-Library Loan Inter-Library loans are available for books not available in the library collection. There is a fee of $2.00 plus postage for all inter-library loans. It is up to the lending library as to how long a book may be kept.
Computer/Internet Access Policy 1. A current/unrestricted library card is necessary to use the computer. If the patron card fee is due, the user will be allowed to use the computer that day and told it needs to be paid before the next use. Users must also have basic knowledge of computers and the internet. The library staff will be happy to assist with the use of the internet/computers and answering questions when possible, but may not always be available to assist with all computer needs. 2. The computers are normally available (subject to periodic maintenance) at the following times: 10:00 a.m. - 7:45 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. Wednesday and Friday 10:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Saturday 3. Computer access is on a first-come, first-served basis. Those using the computers are asked to sign up at the circulation desk and will have a limit of one hour or (one use per patron) each day. Patrons exceeding the one hour time limit or using the computers beyond available times listed above are subject to a $5.00 fine. If someone else is waiting they will be expected to finish as quickly as possible so that others may also have a chance to use the computer. At the discretion of the librarian, additional time may be allowed at no charge for school work or business related use (up to 1 extra hour). 4. Visitors without a library card may use the computers for 15 minutes. There is a $5.00 charge after that. 5. Personal software programs/disks/CDs are not allowed on the library computers. This will help prevent computer viruses that are common on public computers. 6. Copies are .20 cents for black & white and .50 cents for color. 7. Library computers may not be used for viewing pornography.
